October Flowers Hooked Rug
October Flowers Hooked Rug
October Flowers is a study on the way I make flowers in my rugs. Sometimes I make flowers with shapes that mimic to some extent the way a certain flower is in real life, but most of the time they are made up and begin with irregular circles and go from there. This one uses newly dyed wools and as-is tweeds that give exuberant color to the rug. A winding stem connects all the flowers to each other. With its bright yellow and red reproduction fabric binding, it’s a very happy, joyful rug. It’s 11” by 28” and can be displayed either vertically or horizontally, depending on how you’re using it. I can see it as a striking table runner.
